Jan-Ken-Pon is an elementary-level Japanese language program that consists of three volumes: Stage I (K-1), Stage II (Grades 2-3), and Stage III (Grades 4-5). Each stage has nine units, and each unit focuses on a particular theme including numerous age-appropriate activities and detailed instructions for teachers. All units are written in both Japanese and English. Jan-Ken-Pon can be adapted for use in intensive programs, standard FLES classrooms, and after school programs.

Created by a team led by national Japanese language education expert Dr. Hiroko Kataoka, Jan-Ken-Pon is based both on the latest research in second language acquisition and on the national foreign language standards.
