Language Immersion Networking Group in Oregon (LINGO)

Immersion schools effectively produce students proficient in English and another language. These schools, however, face unique challenges typically not addressed during traditional professional development programs.

The Language Immersion Networking Group in Oregon (LINGO), a two-year professional development program for teachers and principals, facilitates the exchange of knowledge and curriculum among high-need immersion programs in Oregon. The first year of the program focuses on action research, and the second year addresses sustainable school improvement plans. Participants contribute curricular material to a shared database, reducing the staff time required to create effective lesson plans.
