The Proficiency, Efficiency, and Planning (PEP) Tool

The Proficiency, Efficiency, and Planning (PEP) Tool, an online curriculum planning tool, assists Spanish and Japanese teachers in preparing lesson plans designed to help students become proficient language users.

PEP utilizes a user-friendly interface that looks and feels like a teacher’s filing system. A built-in search engine helps teachers find appropriate activities from a large database. PEP Tool prompts teachers to create thematic units, set objectives, find activities, and sequence effective lesson plans. PEP Tool’s model courses demonstrate how to use the online tool to supplement or replace existing textbooks.

To begin using PEP Tool, please email us to receive a login. Registered users may log in directly from the PEP Tool Web site.

With support from the U.S. Department of Education Title VI program, CASLS offers this curriculum tool to educators at no cost.
