Tamagawa Internship and Educational Studies

Students deserve an opportunity to experience another language and culture while exploring practical career options. CASLS created the Tamagawa Internship and Educational Studies program to provide undergraduate students from Tamagawa University in Japan with such an opportunity. These students enroll in intensive English language courses through the UO American English Institute and then complete internships in Eugene-area schools, which help strengthen Japanese language education programs.

Tamagawa Internship and Educational Studies allows students to

  • Earn regular (non-transfer) credit through Tamagawa University
  • Build their English language and culture skills
  • Learn teaching methods from master teachers
  • Connect with American K-12 students
  • Share Japanese language and culture
