Test Purpose
Arabic CAP is designed to provide a general estimate of students' language proficiency. Test results can be used for reflective teaching and program evaluation.
As of September 2011, Arabic CAP is being delivered through Avant Assessment. Please contact Avant to
register for the test.
CASLS developed Arabic CAP in partnership with the Arabic Language Instruction Flagship (ALIF) at Michigan State University. The ALIF program is a unique language learning opportunity for undergraduate students interested in developing superior-level proficiency in Arabic. Students major in a subject of their choice while completing specialized coursework in Arabic language and culture through the four years of their college experience, developing the language skills necessary to function professionally in Arabic. The STARTALK program administered by the National Foreign Language Center and The Language Flagship through the National Security Education Program funded Arabic CAP.
