Building Inclusive Schools through Skillful Communication

2024 Summer Leadership Institute

The diversity of schools today is a strength and should be celebrated. However, diversity can be difficult to manage as an educator because every educator and learner brings a unique set of communication norms and preferences to the learning environment. This workshop will empower participants to navigate these preferences with skill and empathy.

Join us July 23-25 in Eugene, Oregon for an unforgettable experiential professional development opportunity centered around communicating effectively with learners from all backgrounds. Through our focus on the tenets of intercultural communication, we will support educators across subject areas in augmenting their existing toolboxes with culturally relevant, best practices for the classroom. Specifically, we will address creating and selecting instructional materials, articulating learner-centered classroom routines, best practices for formative and summative assessments, and how to capture those practices in classroom, school, and departmental policies.

Come play, experiment, and explore with us as we uncover how to make more collaborative and effective learning environments for all!

All K-12 educators are invited to attend.
