We believe communication is the goal of language learning. The best way to reach this goal is to provide students with real-life experiences using a second language in context. We’re proud to offer a practical career experience for Chinese and Japanese learners of English.
Through the Oregon International Internship Program (OIIP), students from universities in China, Japan, and Taiwan combine their English language and culture learning with an internship. They enroll in academic courses at the University of Oregon and complete internships in K-12 classrooms in the Eugene area. Students to participate in the U.S. educational system, expand their English skills, and learn from experienced teachers while introducing Chinese or Japanese cultures to local classrooms.
