CASLS and the Fulbright Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO)
The Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) is proud to have served as the coordinator for the prestigious Fulbright Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) since 2023. CASLS has a long-standing history of engaging educators, scholars, and students in immersive, transformative learning experiences that prepare them for success in cross-cultural and multilingual contexts. Our work with the Fulbright program exemplifies this commitment to fostering global competencies.
Since 2020, CASLS has hosted the Fulbright Networking Session using Escape from Byru’Moxia, our immersive experience designed to unpack the nuances of intercultural communication, encourage collaboration, strategic thinking, networking, and intercultural exchange. This interactive session serves as the kickoff of our PDO for Europe & Eurasia, allowing Fulbright participants to build critical connections and hone the skills necessary for navigating diverse global environments.
